Michael Barnett, Assistant Professor of Lighting Design at The University of Mississippi and Head of the BFA Lighting Design Program, has recently designed the 20th Anniversary National Tour of Forever Plaid as well as productions for Arkansas Repertory Theatre (Always…Patsy Cline), the Barter Theatre (Forever Plaid, Always...Patsy Cline, Beauty and the Beast, Saving Old Smokey), Tennessee Repertory Theatre (Sweeney Todd, A Christmas Story, Yankee, Tavern, The 39 Steps, Steel Magnolias, The Underpants, Moonlight & Magnolias), Tennessee Shakespeare Festival (Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Mill Mountain Theatre (A Simple Gift), Tennessee Williams Festival (Sweet Bird of Youth), New Stage Theatre (To Kill a Mockingbird), Seaside Music Theatre (Working), and Theatre Southeast (Proof, Forever Plaid).  His design of Sweeney Todd for Tennessee Repertory Theatre was recently featured at the 2009 World Stage Design conference in Seoul, South Korea.  Michael lives in Oxford, MS with his wife and children and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Design & Technology Committee for the Southeastern Theatre Conference.
